The NATF is excited to announce a global rating system that more accurately reflects the achievement of all competitive players within our sanctioned leagues and competitions. We're calling this ranking system the Collins Rating System or CRS.
The Collins Rating System is based on a combination of factors, including:
- The algorithm divides each individual match into rounds and then takes into consideration each round won. - In addition, performance in higher pressure scenarios (i.e. regular season play vs playoffs, or the NATC) are weighted more heavily, emphasizing sweeps. - Furthermore, CRS also takes into account an opponent's rank during the match, and assigns more or fewer points accordingly, i.e. awarding fewer to no points for beating a much weaker opponent vs. a greater number of points when winning against someone of an equal or higher rating.
Once live, the CRS will be updating on AxeScores.com each week. For the moment, we've distilled the full list of throwers to a list hosted as of May 17th. Learn more here: http://bit.ly/2Mb8plC.
Stay tuned for the living, breathing, fully searchable list to go live in the next few weeks.
This new rating system is also what BATL will use to choose a portion of the top 64 players for the BATL Royale #1 tournament in September. This rating system will not affect the Champions Points system, which will remain in place to determine qualifiers for Round 1 of the NATC.
